Mad King Suibhne: An exciting new commission for our 2017 Season

It isn't every day that you commission a new opera but that is exactly what we have done to celebrate our 10th anniversary season in 2017. Mad King Suibhne, by Noah Mosley will be performed as part of a double bill on 11 and 12 March next year. We want to keep you up to date with how work on Suibhne is going and to bring you some of the music in advance, so this is the first of our 'Suibhne Blogs' by Noah and Director Ella Marchment. We hope you will enjoy them and that it will inspire you to come and see the full production.

The Dancing Monks of Assam to perform at Bury Court.

On Wednesday 13 July some very special visitors are coming to Bury Court - the dancing monks of Majuli - an island in the Bramaputra River, N.E. India. The monks worship Krishna through music and dance and for over 600 years have cultivated a form of dance-drama known as Sattriya that is still thriving today, and in 2008 was recognized as a 'Classical Indian Dance Form'.
